10 TV Shows I’m Eager to Watch in 2019

Television has changed so much in the past few years. With the advent of streaming services such as Netflix and Amazon Prime, the TV offer has expanded, diversified, and improved in quality (and that’s why I respectfully disagree with those who still insist that they’re above TV; there’s something for everyone, if you just bother to look up all options).

My TV viewing has changed too. As a kid, before Internet access and box sets, I could only watch whatever was broadcasted on a small number of channels. When I moved in with Matt, he introduced me to several shows, some of which had already come to an end, and we would have month-long marathons. Recently, however, we’ve been trying out newer TV series. Many of these are still ongoing, so waiting for the new seasons has become part of the excitement (sometimes it’s nerve-wracking though, especially when a season ends with a cliffhanger).

So, today I am listing – in no particular order – ten TV shows that I’m eagerly waiting for this year. They are continuations of ongoing series, but I’ve also included an extra entry, a brand-new work from one of my favourite personalities, which is coming out soon.

While I do mention some teasing tidbits found on various news sites, if you still have to catch up on some of these shows, do not worry as I kept it spoiler-free (however, the sources I’ve linked might not be).

Scrabbled Journal – End of 2018-January 2019

Hello, anybody still here? 😅

I’m sorry for the long silence (and I guess I’m talking to those few followers who are interested in my Journal posts). I was preoccupied with a million things these months and blogging not only ended up on the back burner, it completely disappeared from my radar! Shame.

Now, my temporary freedom from studies and my desire to chronicle my life have brought me back. Enjoy this monster of a post (and write me a comment to let me know you’re still interested in reading me…).

Hello readers! It’s October, and I am finally starting to breathe again, as the heat and humidity are giving way to cooler temperatures and rain. Like an animal out of hibernation (or a zombie out of the grave), now I feel ready to crawl back to active life, get energised and fill my¬†Scrabbled Journal with interesting points. ūüôā

Scrabbled Journal – July-August 2018

Hello everyone! Hope that summer (or winter, depending which hemisphere¬†you’re living in) has been treating you well.

I’m back with another combined Scrabbled Journal post because too little happened in July to deserve a whole post. Actually, August was just uneventful. Oh well, it’s no surprise. The summer heat doesn’t let me do anything, except reading and watching TV under the A/C, which I did for most of the days!

Movie Rambles: Sicilian Ghost Story (2017)

One of the movies I’ve studied during the last months was¬†Sicilian Ghost Story, written and directed by Fabio Grassadonia and Antonio Piazza. I also had the fortune of attending a talk by Piazza himself, where he revealed technical and behind-the-scene details and explained their choice of dealing with a tough subject in the way they did.

The movie is based on the short story Un cavaliere bianco, found in the collection Non saremo confusi per sempre, in which the author, Marco Mancassola, retells famous, tragic Italian cases in a fairytale-like manner. That is also what Grassadonia and Piazza chose to do when adapting the Mafia kidnapping of 13-year-old Giuseppe Di Matteo to film.
